Crayon Day

As a starter for our new Literacy topic, we had our very own ‘Crayon day’.  To begin with, we read ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ by Drew Daywalt.  We analysed the different crayons and decided how they felt by referencing the text.

After that, we sketched and coloured crayon boxes and other items to show light and dark.

We then got the chance to create our own Crayon character to bring to life.

At the end of the day, we used Chatterpix to bring our crayon to life.  We used our speaking and listening skills to imagine what each crayon might say.  Take a look below:
